The situation

The revision of the EU CLP Regulation, governing the classification, labelling and packaging of chemical substances and mixtures, brings the most significant changes in this area in over a decade. For companies in the chemical sector, this means adjusting compliance models, product portfolio strategies and risk management systems. A national industry association needed a reliable analysis that would allow its members to understand the scale of the changes and prepare for them in advance.

Our role

We prepared a comprehensive report analysing the key CLP regulatory changes, including the interlinkages with REACH and the EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS). We translated complex regulations into concrete business consequences: how compliance obligations will change, what adjustments will be required in product portfolios, and what changes in risk management systems companies should expect. The report served both as an internal tool for members and as the basis for the organisation’s advocacy with regulators.

The result

The chemical sector received an early, practical tool to prepare for the changes, rather than reacting to them after the fact. The case is a good example of regulatory advice at sector level: we help not just individual companies, but entire industries shape their response to new EU regulations.
